Digitalizing the Newspaper for Ipads and Tablets- The Daily
Unveiling of the new digital newspaper on tablet platform wouldn’t take much longer now, as Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Inc., and Rupert Murdoch, head of News Corp, are doing all necessary preparations for unveiling a new kind of newspaper named Daily, that will debut from the platform of your tablet. Surely an exciting news for the techno geeks. Now you can have your own eco friendly newspaper right on your iPad.
It will require recurring subscriptions that will be paid using the iTunes accounts of users- as said by John Gruber from Daring Fireballs.
As quoted by Gruber, “My understanding is that this initiative is going to launch with a press event, with Murdoch (and perhaps other newspaper and magazine executives) joining Steve Jobs on stage. This is not going to be a quiet launch, to say the least... it won’t happen until next month at the earliest.”
He added, “The date I’ve heard is December 9, but that’s a Thursday, which would be somewhat unusual for an Apple press event. My guess is that they’re telling people December 9 but it might slip back to Tuesday or Wednesday the week after. Perhaps it will coincide with the opening of the Mac App Store?”
The Guardian asserts that the project will be unveiled along with some interesting bits of information. This project will be named The Daily, and it will be the only newspaper that will be available on tablets, as well as iPad. This means that there is no printed or web version for this newspaper. It will also be available for download for 99 cents for a week or $4 for a month. With just a small fee, you can gain full access to this digital newspaper.
